The regen can be started by the engine computer during driving but sometimes it isn’t enough possibly because of start and stop driving in the city or oil and fuel over the normal level causing a blockage. If the diesel engine is using oil or has faulty fuel injectors the DPF won’t take long to have an abnormal restriction. \n \n \n can you force a dpf regeneration
Your Mercedes. BMW 740Ld xDrive. May 20, 2018. #16. Regen is nothing to do with the rev range. Even a forced one. It is down to the exhaust gasses being up to a hot enough temperature to burn off the waste on the DPF. Your car will regen at 70mph in 6th at 1900rpm just as happily as it will in 4th at 4krpm. Yes, but its bad practice to force a regen if its not needed. In the DPF module check for soot levels. The regen should be activated around 25grams of soot +/- automatically. The ecu uses a pressure differential sensors in the DPF to calculate the load/pressure infront and behind the dpf filter. You can check those in the live data measurement.

It means the soot is at 90% of dpf capacity . The engine does a regen to change soot to ash , witch takes up a lot less area in dpf filter . that is why you see the % going down during regen . As far as cleanable dpf filters caterpillars smallest engines do not have cleanable dpfs there designed to last life of the engine .

$200 later, they did a forced regeneration for me. It has been fine ever since but the other day it came back up saying DPF 100% full. This was almost immediately after I just drove on the expressway at 65 mph for 30 min. No idea why it didn't do a regen during that time. 80% of my driving is highway miles. Usually you will see a warning at 80% and again at 90%. If you don't drive and complete the regen at this point the dealer will have to do a forced regen. These are the messages concerning either the DPF or DEF that are displayed on the EVIC: • Exhaust Filter Full Safely Drive at Highway Speeds To. Remedy.
The truck senses this and goes into a "regen". This occurs when the truck dumps extra amount of fuel into the cylinders on one side of the engine to raise EGTs to 1000 degrees. This basically incinerates all of the particulate matter in the filter, which goes out the tailpipe. Once the filter is clean, the regen stops.
As soot levels exceed 50% load, the DPF faces catastrophic failure. You‘re looking at a multi-thousand dollar replacement. And when a clogged DPF can‘t be regenerated enough for active operation, it triggers an emissions system derate – the engine power is limited to try to force regeneration. But derates cut your productivity and revenue 3. Check that the EGR system is working correctly; 4. Check that the vehicle has the correct specification engine oil; 5. Check the Eolys/Cerine additive (active system); 6. When the DPF filter load reaches a predetermined level, the ECU activates a regeneration process to increase the DPF temperature to over 550˚C. Why would you want to turn the dpf regen process off? So you can allow more passive regens and plan your regen for a highway trip that will be 20-30 minutes. Preferably hauling a load of some sort. Higher egts equals more efficient regen. I am not suggesting to haul a car trailer everytime you regen. Just plan your regens. If you are going to Technical Support. DPF regeneration OBD scan tools help perform forced Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration service and clear DPF warning light. This service is required to clear PM (Particulate Matter) from the trap in combustion oxidation mode (such as high temperature heating combustion, fuel additive or catalyst reduce PM. When the regen light comes on, here’s what you do: Park your tractor on a flat surface in a well-ventilated area. Keep the engine running in idle. Engage the brake. Put all shift levers in neutral. Turn off PTO. Warm up the engine. It should be running for at least 3 or 4 minutes before starting regen.
10 Jul 2021. #1. lf l buy a new T6.1 and use it for short journeys all day (each journey is usually around 5 miles or less) l going to have DPF issues? At each customer l spend generally 30-60 minutes so when l get back in the van the engine will have cooled down somewhat. l read on one van site that modern diesel vans were "not suitable for
Ok so wanted to update you all the first pic is the reading prior to dpf regen and the rest are after this was done using my icarsoft mbv2 also is that milage down to a tenth of a km? First one shows fill level at 316% and after 4% can anyone advise .26g of soot is good level and also ash content 16kg?
Regen is the process of burning off the built up diesel particulate matter (DPM) in the diesel particulate filter (DPF). There are three regen strategies for the 6.7L Ford, passive, active, and manual. One of the requirements for any regen to start is the exhaust gas temperature must reach between 950° and 1050° F. jm5ekPo.
